about

Leaving Dartington College of Art, where he studied harpsichord and composition, Tim's first music business job was as head of the production music publishing arm of Studio G in Wardour Street, London, where he met John Rowland, the studio’s chief engineer.

Rowland recalls, “Although [he was] three years younger than me he introduced himself by way of ‘how do you do young man’. Very Tim. We instantly got on well and in the course of our working relationship formed a great and enduring friendship and recorded several things together over the following years. Tim and I became best friends and remained so until he died.”

The first five tracks here were recorded during this period, among them the epic "Concert For Two," the opening track here. A second version, now rettiled "A Solitary Heartbeat In The Night" closes the album, and was recorded following the pair joined producer Tom Newman at the Barge Studio in 1977.

There, too, the remainder of this album was recorded, largely during the 1977-79 period leading up to Tim's recruitment into Mike Oldfield's touring band.
